Life Update

The past few months have been hectic to say the least. All COVID related challenges aside, we welcomed our beautiful daughter Charlotte, moved to a new state, and begun the process of building a home. I guess we just like to stay busy…

Charlotte was born on April 1, while we were still living in the Portland area. We wanted to stay there until she was born because I liked my doctor, we felt very comfortable with our life there, our community to help with Cameron, and our home setup. I think trying to have a baby in a new city, in a new home, and without a support system would have been too much for even me.

Charlotte has thankfully been such a sweet and easy baby. Once we knew she and I were healthy and got the all clear from our doctors, we scheduled the movers to come pack up our place. We moved when she was about 3 weeks old. Thankfully the move from Portland to Spokane was our shortest move to date, and other than driving ourselves the 5 hours, the movers did the rest.

So far we are loving Spokane. It has been very strange moving to a new city during the COVID stay at home orders, as I felt that we haven’t really gotten much of a chance to explore our new city. Thankfully we were prepared for isolation to some degree with a newborn at home, but we are looking forward to when the city reopens more and we can truly experience our new home.

Cameron has been such a good big brother so far, and has adapted to all of the changes surprisingly well for a toddler. We may or may not be bribing him with Brio trains…

One of big reasons we wanted to move to the Spokane area was the ability for us to be able to buy property and build a home. We took the first few months to settle in and get to know the area a bit, and then we started looking in earnest for a lot. After looking at what felt like hundreds of properties, we finally found a 10 acre lot that checked almost all our boxes, and we are under contract on it! We are in the process of finalizing our home plans, and hope to break ground this fall! There will be many more updates to come on that front.

All of these photos were taken by KC England. We cannot recommend her enough if you’re looking for a photographer in the Spokane area.
