We spent the long weekend celebrating a few milestones. Today marks 10 years of marriage for James and I, and to celebrate, we spent the night without the kids in Leavenworth. That being the other milestone- our first night away from the kids as a couple (and my first night ever- I know, it was very overdue).
If you have never been to Leavenworth, it’s a Bavarian style village tucked up against the Cascade mountains in Washington. Thankfully its only an hour from James’ parents, making it an ideal getaway for our first time without the kids.
We stayed at the Post Hotel, which was a wonderful experience. Its a kid free hotel (another first for us), and was beautifully appointed and a great location in town. Our room had a lovely view of the Wenatchee River, and was within walking distance of the main shopping and dining area. The soaking pools and tubs looking over the river made for instant relaxation.
I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years of marriage brings- and hope more weekend getaways like this are in store for us!
